Frequently Asked Questions

Playscheme Operation

Can I change the group my child is in?

Once registration cards are sent out this means that all our registers are printed and things like departure tickets produced. Group changes are possible after badges are printed, but to cover administration costs there will be a £5 admin fee for this to take place. Group changes before mid July are free of charge.

How are children identified?

All children registered are issued with plastic credit card sized ID badges indicating their bus and group. These should be worn at all times by children on the scheme. We can provide safety breakaway lanyards for the cost of £1 from our Admin unit on site. Whilst we will issue replacement badges free of charge these are only cardboard ones, however replacement plastic badges are also available for the cost of 50p.

What time is the Playscheme day?

The Playscheme day runs from 9:30am till 3:30pm Monday to Friday; this means we are able to accept children from 9am and you can collect children before 4pm. Our 5pm club keeps children on site and entertained ready for collection up until 5:30pm for an additional charge.

Can children be placed with their friends?

Wherever possible and where we have been told we will endeavour to make sure children who want to be in the same group are together. This may not always be possible, but as long as they are in the same section then they will have the opportunity to go on the same visits etc.

To make sure they are in the same group then please ensure all bookings use the same common reference selected on the online booking system.

How much does the Playscheme cost?

The true cost of playscheme in 2012 was over £100 per child but we only ask for registrations of a portion of this amount, the rest is gained from other donations and fund-raising through the year.

The registration for 2015 is £60 for the week or £65 for Teenz (this is discounted by £5 before June)

What are the bus times?

This year we are hoping to tailor our bus timetable more precisely to the needs of our participants. Bus times will be published on the literature sent with confirmations and on this website as soon as they are available.
