Infants
Infants is where playscheme begins. Children aged 4 to 7 get the full playscheme day — activities, entertainment and trips out — shaped around little legs and shorter attention spans.
How Infants works
Infants have their own area of the site, away from the older divisions, and their own team of volunteers. Children are placed into small groups in their sections — Wolves, Sharks, Tigers, Monkeys, Bears and Eagles — and stay with the same group and the same volunteers all week, so familiar faces are never far away.
A gentler day
The day runs 9.30am to 3.30pm like the rest of the scheme, but with more time to settle, more quiet corners and old favourites that come back every year.
- Infants Story Time — a calm moment in the middle of a busy day
- The Infants Party — games, music, just for this division
- Arts and crafts in the marquee,
- The Big Show — the whole scheme's daily entertainment
Little trips out
Infants take shorter, softer trips than the older divisions — the kind of days out made for this age group.
- Soft play
- Outdoor Exploring
- Animal Farm
For many Infants this is their first time away from home. The Infants team offer a welcoming face to help them settle in, they soon become part of the Playscheme family.
